"Comped" travel — free or deeply discounted flights, rooms, meals and more — isn't a secret club. It's how casinos reward players for their action. Here's how it actually works and how to start getting it.
A comp (short for "complimentary") is something the casino gives you based on your play. It can be a free room, resort credit, dining, show tickets, airfare, or an entire charter trip. The casino offers comps because your rated play has value to them — it's marketing spend aimed at bringing good players back.
Comps are driven by your Average Daily Theoretical (ADT) — the casino's estimate of your value based on how you play. The higher and more consistent your rated play, the better the offers. If you only take one thing from this article: always play with your players card. Unrated play earns you nothing.

Do comps cost me anything? No. Comps are earned through play. And booking through a host costs the same as booking direct.
Do I have to be a high roller? No — comps scale with play. Even modest, consistent rated play earns offers over time.
